Behavioral Family Management

Designed to introduce mental health and rehabilitation professionals to the procedures and intervention integral to Behavioral Family Management, expert consultants present a comprehensive program of care that research has shown to  significantly reduce the risk of relapse of individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness and increase the quality of their lives and their social functioning. Behavioral Family Management has three main components - family education, training in communication skills and training in problem-solving skills. A variety of educational strategies are used including role-play experiences, "live" and videotape demonstrations and lecture-discussion. Handouts and overhead projections supplement the presentation.
