An Obstacle to Treatment
Identifying the specific skills that must be taught, and developing the methods of teaching them, are VERY difficult. For example:

• What are the specific skills that make good interpersonal relationships at work?
  
• What are the specific skills involved in monitoring and coping with the symptoms of ones own mental illness?
  
• What are the specific skills involved in sharing and pleasantly ending interpersonal interactions?
  
• How should the skills be taught? . . .  a lecture? . . . a demonstration? . . . a role play . . . all of these?
  
• How can the teaching be conducted so that it is equally effective regardless of the teacher's experience and education?
