Goal and Skills Taught in the Module
Medication Management Module teaches participants how to use
antipsychotic medicine for therapeutic and preventative purposes. It is
designed for persons with serious and persistent
mental illness who require medication
for acute treatment and maintenance of improvement. The module covers
the benefits of medication including long-acting depot drugs,
self-administration and self-monitoring of medication effects, coping
with side effects, and negotiating medication issues with health care
providers. This module, when combined with those for Symptom
Management, Substance Abuse Management, and Community Re-entry,
comprises a total package for illness self-management.
Overview
