About Us The Road to Rehabilitation and Empowerment for Clients with Serious Mental Illness Skills Training Psychiatric Rehabilitation Consultants (PRC) is a human service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and functioning of persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Composed of clinicians and researchers from the UCLA PsychREHAB Program, the mission of PRC is to translate the Program's research results into effective, user-friendly treatment products and services. PRC's premier products and services for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation have received national and international endorsements. All products and services offered by PRC are scientifically-proven value and efficacy. The primary aim of the UCLA Center for Research on Treatment & Rehabilitation of Psychosis is to develop and validate new and effective biobehavioral treatments for persons with serious mental disabilities. Empirical validations of these treatments have been published in The American Journal of Psychiatry, Schizophrenia Bulletin, and Psychiatric Services. Robert Paul Liberman, MD, Director of the UCLA Center, has earned a worldwide reputation for developing evidence based, innovative, biobehavioral programs. Hundreds of hospitals and mental health systems around the world have adopted the methods developed by Dr. Liberman and his colleagues for rehabilitating persons with schizophrenia. Their modules for training social and independent living skills have been translated into more than fifteen foreign languages including Spanish, French, Arabic, and Chinese. Dr. Liberman's contributions to research and advancement of patient care have merited awards and recognition from organizations including the APA, the NIMH, and the NAMI. Our Goals
