Family, play, work, learning:
a satisfying and meaningful life!

PRC is the
dissemination site for the UCLA Psych REHAB program. PRC's mission is to distribute, effective and
easy to use treatment products and services for Consumers and Clinicians, partners on the road to empowerment—the power to make a satisfying and meaningful life. All of PRC's products and services have been empirically
validated by the clinicians and researchers of the UCLA Psych REHAB Program and published in peer reviewed journals such as the The American Journal of Psychiatry, Schizophrenia Bulletin, and Psychiatric Service. PRC
has translated these validated treatments and services into its effective and easy-to-use products and services.

In 2006, the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA) convened a
panel of more than 110 experts to define the term "Recovery" for
Consumers with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness. The consensus panel included more than
110 representatives from the consumer, family, provider,
researcher, managed care, and local public official
communities and concluded that “recovery” encompasses
10 overlapping characteristics. All of PRC's products and services embody these characteristics.
For example, CASIG
is a treatment planning tool that begins with elicitation of the
consumer's goals for his or her recovery, and, after an
assessment of the consumer's skills, the partners plan the
services that will achieve the consumer's goals. One of the
services likely to be selected by the consumer is learning the
skills that will empower her or him to achieve his or her
goals for a meaningful and satisfying life. Our 9 Social
and Independent Living Skills modules provide proven,
user-friendly treatments to help consumers acquire
these skills. As you review our products and services,
don't hesitate to contact us if you
have ANY questions. |
